Date of Hike: Weds 7/28

Trail Conditions: Muddy, Easy Water Crossings, Few Downed Trees (blow down),

Comments: Left parking lot at 7am, 4 other cars, follow blue trail passed the cairn to the new /old trail, then took a left to start of herd path at the sway back rock on the left,, up to times square, took rt, short hike over to Panther, nice views from top, open rock, good place to stop and eat on, walked past mud hole to find marker, then back to times square, then over to Couch to find the world famous tilted Couch sign, then back to T2, over to Santa, passing the orange tape marking the start of the new/old trail. you can see Santa peak from the tape, down the new/old trail, took a left went around the rope climb, then found the water hole near base, went counter clockwise around water , following edge, and orange tape markers to trail on other side, then back to cairn on the blue trail back to parking lot, 4:30 , nice views on way to peaks and from times square, need to look around to find the trails, map and compass and gps a big help, plenty of mud but it could have been worse, tight fit on these herd paths, day pack or smaller, nice hike and met some great people also hiking

Hey Nelson, thanks for the trail report. I will be going in and climbing Couch in a few weeks so I was hoping that the trails would be a little less wet by now.

You made great time compared to my two Death Marches to the Santononis, Nelson.

If those trails don't dry out even in the midst of this drought, I guess they never will.
