Nipple Top is a fairly high peak situated between the Dix Mountains and the Great Range. As a result, it offers excellent views of both ranges from its narrow but semi-treed summit. Nippletop is often done as a day trip along with Dial Mountain, which one must traverse if climbing Nippletop from the east. A good loop hike involves the trail leading up from near Lower Ausable Lake.
